on July 29—also after permissible hours. The resident asked the solicitor to leave three times. The solicitor allegedly said he’d return and speak with the homeowner when she was working on her lawn, and claimed that someone would cut her phone lines and break into her house. The homeowner was so upset she called police. Sheriff’s deputies were able to make contact with two solicitors that evening: Anthony Depaola and Stanley Sanchez, both of who said they were not aware that they could not be out soliciting that late, though city regulations make that clear to all permitted solicitors. They came to my home at 8:30. I opened the door, determined that he was not the FedEx guy I was waiting for, said I was not interested. He said he was not selling anything. I asked him to leave and he would not, just kept talking, so I closed the door when it became clear that he would not stop talking, and asked him to leave immediately. He then waited a minute or two and began to knock/pound on the door, shouting that he just wanted to talk. I locked the door and texted my neighbor to warn her.

I'm Donna J. Jodhan wishing you a terrific day and week ahead. A domestic space odysseyBy Donna J. Jodhan The times they are definitely changing and from what we are seeing, retirees are moving in with their adult children as part of a shifting landscape. In Britain this is happening and across Europe they are following suit. In North America this trend seems to be a bit more sluggish but many are saying that it will only be a matter of time before it starts to take off. This trend has been given a quick start by the present economic crisis and families are doing this in order to cope. What we will probably see is a change in what we call the family. Whereas before now society used to consider a family as consisting of primarily parents and children, now we are going to see an extension to this family of an inclusion of grandparents. The Eastern countries have been doing this for years now and now it is the turn of the Western countries. On a cultural level, Eastern countries may be more ready and prepared to accept this growing trend and European countries may not be too far behind but for the British it may take a bit of a learning curve for all stakeholders to get used to.

Nest executives stress that the 1. 46 inch circular Nest Tag is pretty durable, capable of surviving a trip through the washing machine if you forget to remove it from your pocket. In addition to the keypad on the Nest Guard and the Nest Tag, there's a third way to arm and disarm the system — an app on your phone. The app will even send you a reminder to remotely set the alarm when you leave the house. The app's also where you'll get security alerts whenever the alarm goes off. Nest Detect, attached to a doorNest executives say they designed the Nest Secure system with the people who live in a home in mind as much as the burglars trying to break in. That approach is readily apparent in a feature that allows you to set how much time you have to leave the house before the alarm is set. The Nest Guard will give you an audio alert too, telling you how much time you have to get out. While the Nest Guard plugs into a wall, it also features a rechargeable onboard backup battery that gives you 12 hours if the power ever gets knocked out. The Nest Detect runs on a CR12A battery that promises two years of battery life. Backup cellular connectivity for those times your home Internet is down can be added for a $5 a month fee.
